Washington DC

I went to the American Hospital Association Convention in Washington DC on Saturday and returned home Wednesday. It was a very good trip and as usual I learned a lot. The theme was definitely focused on the upcoming election.

I met Bob Dole.

There were several speakers there that I found very interesting.......

Newt Gingrich

Tom Brokaw

I was there just towards the end of the cherry blossoms festival. I was amazed at how the daffodils grew wild along the roads. It was beautiful!

We stayed at the Hilton Washington. You can't see it very well but the drive way is where President Ronald Regan was shot. They later built the stone covered drive for security of the President. This is the place many large policital events are held.

I walked down to Dupont Circle, these were some of the homes seen along the way. Some time we'll have to go when there is enough time to actually do some sightseeing.

KHA

I tried to put the information about Kansas Hospital Association on our blog but it wasn't working. I tried this avenue....we'll see what happens. I am hoping it will link to the KHA website. Don't we look professional!!!!

Easter in the Air

The weather cooperated and we were able to fly to Hays and eat with Brett. It really was a nice day to be out. The flight there was very pleasent....although alittle rough coming home. It's worth it though being able to travel over that kind of distance so quickly. It took just at 45 minutes to get to Hays. When we drive it is about 2 hours 15 minutes. We are now home and able to relax before going back to work Monday. I hope all of you have had an enjoyable Easter also. (As you can see did stop at Walmart....a trip is never complete without that!)

Here are some pictures I took of Cedar Bluff lake as we were coming home and Leoti before we landed.

A Friday Night's Entertainment

Friday night and we're watching........

THE WIZARD OF OZ!!!! We are both remembering and telling stories about our childhood memories and the scary parts! Remember the apple trees and flying monkeys! We are enjoying it being in color!

We wish all of you a Happy and Blest Easter. We're hoping for good weather, if so we will fly to Hays and spend the day with Brett.

On To a Better Week!

We were so glad to get last week over! Both Cayle and I were sick with the gastrointestinal virus which has been going around. Cayle started durning the night Sunday and I was a close second with Monday morning. We often talked about who would take care of who if we were ever sick at the same time....turns out we really didn't care!!! Luckily Cayle was better by Wednesday because he had to take me to the Emergency Room, I felt so very very bad. Had a heart rate of 130 and breathing way too fast...diagnosis was dehydration...surprise, surprise, suprise. I sure hope none of you get this stuff. Today is the first day I feel fairly normal and could get something accomplished. See!
I think this is the best pie crust I've ever made, although it did have a crack in it. Cayle pointed out that cement does that also...ha ha ha.

Nicholas is home for spring break, it's always nice to have him home. He has been helping Cayle out at Leoti Spraying Service the last couple of days.....This is where he is after a hard days work and cherry pie with ice cream.

We had a great and very special weekend! Braylon stayed with us Saturday and part of Sunday. We had such a good time....he is a GOOD little (he says Big) boy. We took him for a ride in one of Cayle's truck. In Braylon's words "This is cool!"

Mom and Dad came over for supper Saturday and had a chance to spend a little time with him, although a big part of that time he spent in the bathtub with all the new toys he found!

He also spent alot of time riding the tricycle Shelia and Brett had when they were little.....it does pay to save things. He thought it needed washed though!!

Braylon turns 4 in May, my how time flys. We sure did enjoy having him here and look forward to him coming to stay with us again.
